Just announced! We are happy to welcome Andy Gullahorn and Al Petteway as guest performers and presenters for WW8!

For the eighth time, we are entering the spontaneous bliss portal that is Wilcox Weekend! We will gather at the beautiful Kanuga Conference Center in Hendersonville, NC on May 3-6, 2018 (with an optional Bonus Day on May 2nd). Come join us!

“What's this event about?  It's a gathering of musicians and non-musicians alike, brought together by a love of music and a desire to live with an open heart.  There are workshops related to music, mindful living, and many other topics.  But when it comes down to it, this is an event about two things: creativity and community.

Congregating at the beautiful, wooded Kanuga Conference Center, attendees get a chance to unwind from the speed and pressure of the day-to-day world, hear some great music, connect with old friends, and find friends they just haven't met yet.

Registration is now open! Hope to see you there!”

Al Petteway | www.alandamy.com/al.html

Al Petteway is a Grammy and Indie Award-winning guitarist who has performed, toured and recorded with many of acoustic music's best-known songwriters including folks like Peter Rowan, Jonathan Edwards, Tom Paxton, Debi Smith, Cheryl Wheeler, and David Wilcox. In addition, he was an on-call backup sideman at the world famous concert venue, The Birchmere in Arlington, VA during the 1980s and 90s, where he performed with the best of the best.  In recent years, he has been touring with his wife Amy White and as a solo artist. He also teaches private lessons and coordinates the guitar staff for the Swannanoa Gathering’s Guitar Week/Contemporary Folk Week.

Al’s compositions and arrangements for acoustic fingerstyle guitar are strongly influenced by his love of Celtic, Appalachian, Folk, and Blues styles. His music is featured on dozens of CDs and on the soundtracks of documentaries by filmmaker Ken Burns, most notably the Emmy-winning PBS series, "The National Parks-America’s Best Idea."  Al was voted one of the “Top Fifty Acoustic Guitarists of All Time” by the readers of Acoustic Guitar magazine where he also won Silver and Bronze medals for Celtic and Fingerstyle guitar in the magazine’s Player’s Choice Awards.  In 2018, Acoustic Guitar Magazine included Al in the “top-rated guitar camp instructors” as voted by their readers.  To date, Al has released eleven solo albums and nine duo albums with Amy White.

His newest CD “The Collector’s Passion” features him playing some of his best loved compositions along with a number of new tunes on sixteen of the finest acoustic guitars available today.

Andy Gullahorn http://www.andygullahorn.com/

Andy Gullahorn has a unique ability to level the playing field between performer and audience by mixing vulnerable personal stories with his self-deprecating humor. He writes songs to “let people know they aren’t alone” or “at least let them feel better about their lives by sheer comparison.” He spends his time playing concerts and house shows across the country, writing songs for other artists, and providing his three kids with plenty of stories to tell their counselors in 20 years.
